Case Study: The Hours Before Dusk

Once the book proposal was in a good place, we developed a content strategy that began 6+ months prior to publication. We wanted to start priming our target audience for the book once the pre-sale was announced.

Once the manuscript was in a near-final place, we engaged community of relevant readers in New York City and Los Angeles to participate in manuscript-editing focus groups; the author made editorial changes based on feedback + created community of evangelists for the book who felt like they had a hand in actually creating the book with the author.

We hosted two pre-publication reader events in NYC; each with unique creative artists and activities inspired by the book.

Before the book had even launched, we created a constant flow of online discussion, content driven by book influencers on social media, and ultimately word of mouth, which created awareness and intrigue before the book started shipping.
